The Pinterest Project week 3. A link up.

I read on pinterest (follow me HERE) the other day that you could shred chicken in a kitchen aid mixer, with the paddles attached. It annoyed me! You see, I've been eyeballing kitchenaids for a long time now but REFUSE to spend that kind of money when really I want it for the breakmaker attachment and because according to a lot of people, you simply can not cook without a kitchen aid.
I jump for joy when I find blogs that DO NOT OWN a kitchen aid mixer!
So anyway, I decided to try this in my normal stand up mixer and it worked wonderfully!
I didn't have to wait for the chicken to cool to shred it, I didn't have to stand there forever shredding it, I just dumped it in and turned it up to a medium and helped spin the bowl.
I'm quite content.
So, next time you go to shred yourself some chicken, keep in mind that you can totally use your mixer.
Next time, I'm going to try to use a handheld and see if that has the same end result.

I want a mixer, too! The only reason I never make chicken salad is b/c I hate shredding. Otherwise, I'd probably eat it daily! ;)

Hey home girl you have next week's linky code up. LOL.

Also, I had a hand mixer for the longest longest time and then once I got my KA it was all over. I don't know how I did it before...although I mean, it was with a handmixer, I just kind of have amnesia about it. I used my KA to mash potatoes the other day. I just threw my whole baked potatoes (skins and all) in it and it mashed them all up. I love doing the shredded chicken too.

Around Nov/Dec watch the price for them on Amazon. Usually they are almost $400 but I got mine for $249 (different colors are different prices) plus free shipping.

Isn't this the best thing ever! BTW, a hand mixer works just as well. I only have the hand mixer and always use it to shred my chicken. I would love a Kitchen Aid, but for now my hand mixer works.

I don't have any kind of stand mixer - so I'd be interested in how the hand mixer works out. This would be perfect for buffalo chicken grilled cheeses.
