Let's talk about assumptions.

So after my giveaway on Neely's blog I got to wondering negatively about people....
I wonder if anyone was all like, "what?! hasn't she been bitching about finances for the past few months, how's she gonna spend money on a giveaway?!"

Now I hope that nobody has thought this, but I'm sure someone has.

Maybe I should title this post something else, but eh.

So in the giveaway, I included a $10 Dunkin' donuts gift card, a coffee cup, a to-go coffee cup and a little coffee sampler pack thingy.
The DD card I bought months ago off Groupon for $3. The coffee cup and sampler pack I bought about the same time I bought my ad space on Neely's blog (for the giveaway I knew I'd get to host) and then I picked up the to go cup one day for a whopping $4 (on sale).  So yea--even prefinance issues, I'm still cheap frugal.

I have ads on (starting soon)  For love of a cupcake, A complete waste of makeup and Jessica Who. (starting soon) Bigger bloggers equal bigger prices.
But all of those I bought MONTHS ago when they had some AMAZING promo codes up for grabs.

I've also tweeted and instagramed about some new clothes.
From Shabby apple.
From Florence Adams.
I've talked about my new Erin Condren planner.

What you don't know about those--giveaway wins.  For realz.
I spent $3 on the shabby apple dress and asked David if it was okay. It ONLY was financially okay because we'd gotten some Christmas money from my Grandpa.

I also talk about how David'll bring me home starbucks-- giveaway wins.  He has my card, I have the app on my phone.

So basically,  (this is a pointless and rambly post in case you haven't already noticed that) when you assume something..... well, I'm pretty sure we all know the end of that phrase.

**This post has been brought to you by my wandering thoughts and the fact that I'm avoiding cleaning up the dinner mess.  You're welcome**

I assume that if a blogger is spending money on advertising or giveaways, it's because they've budgeted for this money. Or they use whatever money they've received from sponsors and put it toward advertising on other blogs

And if you're able to use things you've already received from other gifts, then go for it!

Oh and is there a weird html coding issue in this post? The paragraph with the links to the blogs you're advertising on looks odd.

I second the idea that there's a html code issue with what looks like a button you tried to post ^ :)

I wonder how ALL bloggers get the money to do the giveaways/sponsorships they do. I'm pretty frugal too, and I always *assume* that bloggers are budgeting for the money they spend. It does seem like everyone shops a lot and I wonder where that money comes from. I mean, we have decent jobs and I still can't rationalize going off and spending whatever I want.

Good post :)

I am a new reader (from the Neely giveaway, woot! Your money is well spent and gaining new readers! *smiles*) and I did not wonder that specifically about you, but I have for others. I wonder the most with young girls that are always complaining about money but then go on frequent vacations! Now, THAT leaves me scratching my head! Lol

Hope you had a wonderful and merry Christmas!

I don't think people realize that blogging opens up a lot of opportunities. For example, it may seem like I have money, but I may have also negotiated free ad space for someone in exchange for something else or received an item for review. Also, all my blog and spending money comes from my blog and shop. If my blog and shop aren't doing well, then I'm not shopping.

And giveaways are awesome!
lol

You go girl! I buy stuff all the time for later or when it is in sale.

I hear ya! All of my "fun" money definitely comes from giveaways. Gift cards are such a life saver!

I hate when people make assumptions. Besides that, it's none of their business.
